Resin Test - 3Dfacture Castable Green

Post by jfabritz » Wed Apr 11, 2018 4:00 pm

This is a resin sold by 3DFacture for use with their Draken DLP resin printer. It is not pigment-based, so it does not suffer from separation issues, but can be influenced by over-exposure. Can be sliced at 25-50 um and supports X-Y resolution down to 30 um.

Photon Slicer Parameters:
  • 0.05 mm layer height
  • 15 second normal layer exposure
  • 60 second base layer exposure
  • 8 base layers
  • rafts on all objects to help secure to build plate
  • all supported generated in CAD software
Conclusions:
  1. All rings printed completely
  2. Detail in engraved ring was overexposed - try lower exposure next time
  3. Tear in dish ring edges caused by too thin supports on thin wall - use thicker supports next time
  4. Some wave on the prints, not enough to make finishing difficult, but would be nice to fix
